Tree Silhouettes
My earlier style tests consisting of multiple tree designs was clearly a big mistake as it was much more difficult to compare the different art styles with several tree designs simultaneously fighting for attention. As a result, in my next tests, all the styles will be using the same tree design so I've created some tree silhouettes to work from. I'm quite happy with how they're turning out so far and they got a great response when I posted them online for feedback.

Most people preferred tree number 9 so I'll be using that as the basis for my art style tests.
General feedback:
- The buckled shapes of 5 and 9 give the trees more character.
- Lots of people responded to the subtle human like shapes I tried to add to some of the tree designs e.g. the claw like branches of 4 and 5 and how the bulkiness of 5 and 7 could maybe be mistaken for a person.
- 7 didn't immediately come across as a tree.
- Positive response to the straggly parts of tree 9 and the ropes of 7.
Someone also pointed out that for art style tests I should really have multiple textures to work with, so I should try incorporate the ropes from 7 in to the final design. I hadn't thought of how having only one texture (the tree bark) present in my tests may be an issue so definitely going to try this.
